The American Institute of Architects LA's Academic Outreach Committee (AOC) sponsored the second architecTOUR on November 21st in downtown Los Angeles. Four architecture firms within walking distance of each other--RTKL, Steinberg Architects, ZGF, and AECOM--opened their office to 40 local architecture and interior design students for the afternoon. They discussed their firm design philosophies, shared recently completed work and work actively "on the boards", described what makes their firm and office culture unique, and stimulated design dialogues. The tours provide great opportunities for students to get to meet and ask questions to architects in their working environment. The AOC will be sponsoring architecTOURs bi-annually, in the spring and fall of each year.
