AIA/LA Board of Directors Announced for 2010

For Immediate Release

LOS ANGELES, CA, December 18, 2009: AIA|LA, the Los Angeles chapter of the American Institute of Architects, is pleased to announce that its 2010 Board of Directors was formally introduced at the annual AIA|LA Holiday Party, which this year was at the beautifully designed Annenberg Space for Photography. Against a vivid backdrop of the world's pre-eminent sports photographers, Walter Iooss and Neil Leifer, 200+ architects and design professionals convened to celebrate the many accomplishments of the 2009 Board, as well as, formally welcome the incoming 2010 Board.

The AIA|LA Board of Directors represents a diverse range of professional interests. Although representing the interests of architects often in fierce competition with each other "inside the ring", as 2010 President-elect Paul Danna observed pointing to a famous photograph of Ali and Frazier, as an organization AIA|LA serves as the opportunity for the profession to come together "as friends and colleagues to do something for the good of all of us." By strengthening the mandate that Architecture and Design Matters...and so do Architects, the 2010 Board of AIA|LA will aim to support AIA members through education, interaction with new people and ideas, in big ways or small, in any way it can. Additionally, through the coordination of numerous programs and events, "we will enthusiastically reach out to other groups of architects and design professionals, and to a broad range of disciplines, such as builders, real estate professionals and civic leaders, to explore ideas where we can all come together," says Danna.
