2011 AIA|LA 7th Annual Restaurant Design Awards
AIA|LA Announces Restaurant Design Award Winners
With help from people's choice voters and a distinguished jury panel, AIA Los Angeles announced the Restaurant Design Awards winners in conjunction with the AIA|LA Design Conference on the Dwell on Design expo floor at the LA Convention Center, Friday, June 24, 2011 at 5:30pm.
AIA|LA's Restaurant Design Awards (RDAs) are an annual competition that honor excellence in restaurant design. The competition was open to all individuals and practices with both restaurant owners and architects/designers invited to submit. With three main categories, Lounge/Nightclub, Café/Bar and Restaurant available, the applicant pool was amazing this year, making our jury's job to choose Jury Award winners and to narrow down the finalists a difficult decision.
The RDA jury, comprised of architect Dean Larkin, AIA; Campanile restaurant owner and chef, Mark Peel and Chief Operative of Secret Agent PR, Haily Zaki, came to AIA|LA offices in May to decide the Jury Award Winners and to choose the finalists for the People's Choice Awards voting. After a month of People's Choice voting, the winners were tallied up and ready to be honored at our ceremony!
As part of AIA|LA's Design Conference at Dwell on Design, the evening was hosted by two very special celebrity guests, the glamorous Barabara Lazaroff, Interior Designer and co-owner of the world-renowned restaurant, Spago's and the beautiful TV and film actress, Michelle Kursiec.
AIA|LA congratulates all the winners!

The competition is open to all individuals and practices with both restaurant owners and architects/designers invited to submit. Either the project itself must be located in the United States or the submitting individual/firm must be US-based. Submissions are accepted in three main categories: restaurants, cafés/bars and lounges/nightclubs.
