Design Awards & Party

The annual AIA Los Angeles Design Awards & Exhibit honors excellence in work built by Los Angeles architects (Design Awards) as well as work by Los Angeles Architects as yet unbuilt (Next LA Awards). In both the Design and Next LA categories, jury awards are given in three classifications: Citation, Merit, and Honor. The Design Awards juries, which are comprised of notable architects from across the United States and abroad, are selected by Committee, and change annually.

Architecture Month

Architecture Month encourages the entire architecture community to develop programs that promote architects and architecture to the citizens of Los Angeles and neighboring communities. Most of the groups involved are non-profits or not-for-profits; ongoing and existing programs have also been assembled under the banner of Architecture Month to give them a wider audience and exposure.

MOBIUS LA

MOBIUS LA is the official design conference of AIA Los Angeles. The conference is a multi-day event featuring professional development seminars, lectures, panel discussions and various other special events, including the Restaurant Design Awards Ceremony and the 2x8 Student Competition & Scholarship. MOBIUS LA allows attendees the opportunity to both earn continuing education units as well as network without having to travel outside of Los Angeles.

Hosted at numerous architecture firms around town, the The 2009 AIA/LA "BUILDING LA'S FUTURE" Breakfast Series will feature distinguished speakers, such as County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, Larry Eisenberg, Guy Mehula, Steven Olsen, Geraldine Knatz, Brian League, Jim Clarke, Gerry Miller and Gary Lee Moore. The series will serve as an excellent opportunity for key leaders in the A/E/C industry to engage directly with decision-makers that presently have ongoing capital improvement programs that are helping to shape the City in which we live
