Architecture Month
AIA Los Angeles and the City of Los Angeles Declare October Architecture Month!
The month of October was officially proclaimed Architecture Month by the City of Los Angeles. The emphasis was on bringing together diverse professional and public-interest groups, including AIA Los Angeles and a host of participating organizations, to celebrate the built environment and bring awareness to the importance of design to the community at large.
The initiative was formally declared by Los Angeles 4th District Councilman Tom La Bonge and Mayor Antonio Villaragosa on Friday October 12, 2007 at City Hall.
In celebration of Architecture Month, AIA|LA, in conjunction with our Community Partners, will host a slew of events across the city that educate the public about architecture and architects, celebrate the profession and encourage the dialogue between those interested in the built environment. The theme for this year is, "Designing Healthier Lifestyles," which will include a symposium of the same name and a host of other events! Come help celebrate Architecture Month!
