AIA/LA Urban Design Committee presents...
INNOVATIVE GENERAL PLANS
Wednesday, February 17 (7pm)
AIA Los Angeles
3780 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 800
Los Angeles, CA 90010
RSVP by emailing WILL WRIGHT.
Please join the AIA/LA Urban Design Committee in a discussion about what’s new and innovative in general plans.
As architects, we’re familiar day to day working with zoning codes in all the places we work. What we don’t always realize is that zoning codes are “how to” manuals intended to carry out general plan policies. In the past, planning departments have focused general plan policy on use and density, with little or no attention to urban design or building design. Happily, times they are a-changin’. Join us for an illuminating discussion on what’s new and innovative as different cities look into the future.
Panelists/Presenters:
Woodie Tescher, Principal, PBS&J
Steve Gerhardt, Senior Planner, Long Beach Development Services
Francie Stefan, Community and Strategic Planning Manager, City of Santa Monica
Lisa Padilla, Principal, CityWorks Design
