CONTEXT – Los Angeles Freeways

April 3, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm PDT

CONTEXT – Los Angeles Freeways, A Curated Lecture Series by Gensler

CONTEXT, a curated lecture series by Gensler, seeks to uncover the role that context plays in the conception of creative work. The inaugural series interprets “context” in its most literal form, exploring the city of Los Angeles as a driver of creative thought.

The second installment of the CONTEXT lecture series continues with a focus on one of L.A.’s most defining features: its freeways.

The freeway system is undoubtedly an integral part of the city’s identity. As a result, it inevitably drives a vast amount of creative work.

Moderated by KCRW’s Frances Anderton, director and video artists Adam R. Levine and Peter Bo Rappmund join urban historian and author Eric R. Avila to discuss their unique perspectives and insights on the L.A. freeway as it relates to the city.
