COVID-19 is most contagious when patients show up with life-threatening symptoms and need for
oxygen intervention at the hospital. Join our first online program to discover strategies and assess
alternatives to meet the critical surge of patients during this global pandemic. We will share best
practices on rapidly increasing bed capacity while minimizing spread to other patients and staff.

Learn how to support the safe segregation of suspected and confirmed patients, and modify HVAC
systems and air pressure to protect staff during interactions with the most contagious patients during
these unprecedented emergency conditions.

1. Anticipate Airborne Infectious Isolation capacity for hospitals to accommodate the surge of critically ill COVID-19 patients
2. Support hospital and agency bed shortage forecasting through smart tools and retrofit strategies
3. Implement temporary and modular solutions for medical gases and emergency electrical power in strategic locations
4. Execute key HVAC systems modifications to support the safe segregation of suspected and confirmed patients within controlled air environments

Executive Director | Cedars-Sinai Facilities, Planning, Design and Construction

As the Executive Director of Facilities, Planning, Design and Construction (FPD&C) for Cedars Sinai, Sean is responsible for the operational development and management of capital projects from initial concept and design, through construction and project closeout for the Cedars Sinai Medical Center and surrounding licensed clinics, research labs, administrative functions and support facilities. The department is at the forefront of Cedars Sinai’s strategic growth and capital development for the Cedars Sinai Health System including the Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Cedars Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital, the Medical Network and its affiliates and joint ventures (California Rehabilitation Center, Torrance Memorial Hospital and Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center). Sean and his team are in close collaboration with executive medical center and health system leadership, design, planning and medical staff to deliver high-value care within a high-quality environment.

Working at the nexus of design and performance, Stacey Hooper is committed to enriching the human experience through research-based solutions. Throughout a 28-year career, she has developed cutting-edge strategies to future-proof facilities and has leveraged her expertise in building systems and facades to ensure smooth collaboration with OSHPD and other regulatory agencies. Stacey’s healthcare projects vary in size and scope but consistently promote flexibility, efficiency and resiliency. Her recent work for clients such as Cedars-Sinai, Montage Health, and Loma Linda University Medical Center create healing environments that best serve both patients and clinicians. Stacey regularly lectures on the relationship between human comfort, building performance and the principles of well building design at the University of Southern California, SCI-Arc and California Polytechnic State University.
