SmithGroup has been interviewing clients and industry leaders about obstacles to mass timber projects and Holmes Structures has been completing major mass timber projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. We will be presenting the risks of mass timber from the client side and learned efficiencies from recent project experience. Our goal is to provide insight and resources to support your clients as they explore mass timber projects.

John Spanier, AIA, Associate & Project Manager, Workplace Studio, SmithGroup
John Spanier, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, is an Associate and Project Manager in SmithGroup’s Workplace Studio in San Francisco. His experience over the last two decades is comprised of ground up and adaptive reuse in the commercial, hospitality, residential, educational, civic, and industrial markets. Megan Stringer, Associate Principal, Holmes Structures
Megan Stringer, P.E., LEED AP BD+C, is an Associate Principal at Holmes Structures. Holmes is a leader in Mass timber design with offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle as well as internationally.
