Spotlight on CA Title 24 2022: What’s new for lighting and electrical requirements in commercial and residential buildings

What’s new for lighting and electrical requirements with CA Title 24 2022. This presentation will review lighting related changes for Commercial and Residential buildings from an A&D perspective. We will cover new construction, additional and alterations for commercial, multifamily, and residential buildings. For Commercial Buildings we will review these topics and requirements: demand responsive lighting controls, controlled receptacles, manual area controls clarification for scene control, smaller zones, daylighting, lighting power allowance, and new sections for multifamily projects. For Residential Buildings we will review these topics and requirements: JA8, lighting in oblique drawer/cabinets, walk-in closets, dimmer requirements, when separate controls of lighting is needed. We will also provide links to helpful resources for more information and there will be time for Q&A.

Matt Inoue – Systems Applications Engineer, Lutron Electronics Co., Inc
Matt Inoue is Lutron’s System Sales Engineer covering the Southwest, including Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. He is responsible for training internal and external sales teams, providing project-specific guidance on technical or operational issues, and supporting the development of Lutron’s commercial and residential products. In addition to being a technical product expert, he helps Lutron and its customers to interpret building, life safety, and energy codes alongside sustainability and equipment standards. Prior to joining the System Sales Engineering team, he led Lutron’s field service teams on major commercial projects in Northern California, including the Golden State Warriors’ arena, the Apple Headquarters, and San Francisco Airport.
