Darci Hernandez – Principal, Boulder Associates

Darci joined Boulder Associates in 2002 and leads our Orange County office. Her forward-thinking planning and design ability, and client service focused on responsiveness and accountability, has resulted in becoming a trusted advisor to clients throughout Southern and inland California.

She understands the business drivers of healthcare, and is committed to the concept of healthcare as a holistic, whole-person endeavor, and that design solutions, whether through facilities or operations, need to drive towards that outcome.

Tara Laski – Project Executive, DPR Construction

With a BS in Construction Engineering, Tara has spent 20 years supporting a blend of construction projects. From 2008 – 2016 she worked at Universal Health Services; her focus was driving IPD teams, where she developed, lead, and mentored individuals to create high functioning teams. Currently at DPR Construction, Tara is focused on supporting DPR’s Healthcare clients. Her hands-on construction management experience helps her to anticipate and accurately forecast potential issues, prioritize problem resolutions, and positively impact project delivery. Tara is passionate about open collaboration among team members and the atmosphere of innovation that it promotes. In that spirit, she continues to look for ways to bring only best in class results to each client.

Bill Whipple – Senior Medical Planner, HGA

Over the last 30 years Bill has been implementing lean learnings in the design of medical facilities. His experience includes project management, mentoring, planning, training, and leadership as both a designer and owners representative. While with Sutter Health, Bill focused on increasing the value of validation studies, durability of owner decisions, and reducing risk. While on the LCI Northern California COP Core Group between 2011 and 2015, Bill was instrumental in developing numerous lean learning events. More recently he has been consulting Indiana Health University, Mayo Clinic, and Otpum. Bill currently works remote with his wife traveling the US from a high tech trailer.

Stan Chiu – Director of Healthcare, Gensler

Stan is a Director of Healthcare at Gensler, who is driven by a motivation to design high-performance spaces that serve fundamental human needs. Stan brings over 25 years of experience in bringing together teams to deliver complex projects with a focus on the Health, Wellness, and Education sectors. A leader in Lean Design and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), he believes in the power of respect for people and continuous improvement. Stan’s award-winning projects have been recognized for their design excellence by the National AIA and SCUP Honor Awards. He serves on professional and institutional boards including the Lean Construction Institute and is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the U.S. Green Building Council, and the Design Build Institute of America. Stan holds a Master of Architecture from Harvard University.
