2030 Challenge Roundtable
January 14, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am PST
Free2030 Challenge: Everything You Wanted to Know but Were Afraid to Ask
This round table is geared for those who are just learning about the 2030 Challenge and those who have signed on, but are not quite sure how to accomplish tracking and the yearly reporting. With greater awareness of architecture’s significant contribution to climate change comes our responsibility to do something about it. Since 2006, the 2030 Challenge – and the aligned AIA 2030 Commitment – has provided a roadmap to tracking, understanding and ultimately reducing global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from buildings. Join us, architects and sustainability specialists from firms of varying sizes, for a nuts and bolts conversation on what the 2030 Challenge is, how your firm becomes a signatory, and how to track project performance across your portfolio as we will share our strategies and lessons learned regarding the logistics of effectively tracking energy performance across a wide array of projects.
The mission of the AIA 2030 Commitment is to support the 2030 Challenge and transform the practice of architecture in a way that is holistic, firm-wide, project-based, and data-driven. By prioritizing energy performance, participating firms can more easily work toward carbon-neutral buildings, developments and major renovations by 2030.
