2020 City Leaders Breakfast Series Presented By: Psomas

We are delighted to announce that the AIA LA City Leaders Breakfast Series will resume as a virtual “bring-your-own-coffee & breakfast” event.  For 2020/ 2021, we’re aiming for 25+ receptions to showcase the numerous membership-based organizations that provide professional leadership in the A/E/C industry.

Our first in this series will feature the outgoing and incoming Presidents of the Southern California Chapter of The Construction Management Association of America (CMAA).

We are organizing these receptions as opportunities for the architecture & design community to hear from the leadership of numerous A/E/C organizations and the specific initiatives each organization is helping to advance.

Prospective topics and themes will include:

Talin Espinoza2020 President, CMAA Southern California Chapter & Chief Strategy Officer, Twining, Inc.

Talin Espinoza is Chief Strategy Officer for Twining, Inc. and currently serves on various board and committees in prominent associations in the California A/E/C industry. In her role she leads the company’s Business Development and Marketing Efforts at a programmatic level. She also leads M&A activities, company strategy and organic growth planning, investment and initiatives. She works closely with Twining ownership to develop an industry-specific brand that holistically addresses the consumer’s buying experience and seamlessly connect clients to the company’s vision and voice. She has over 15 years of experience in the A/E/C industry. Talin recently concluded her term as President of the CMAA Southern California Chapter. She is also currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Association of General Contractors Los Angeles District (AGC) and the AGC of California Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She is a contributing writer to the PSMJ A/E Marketing Journal. Talin is a graduate of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.

J. Brandon Dekker, M.S., DBIA2021 President, CMAA Southern California Chapter & Principal-Office Practice Leader, CannonDesign

Brandon Dekker is a Principal and Irvine/San Diego Office Practice Leader for CannonDesign where he has been in a leadership role for the past 13 years. Brandon has been in the design and construction field for 19 years and is a certified DBIA Professional with the Design-Build Institute of America. Brandon sits on the Executive Board for the Southern California Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) and is a Board Member for the Design-Build Institute of America’s (DBIA) Western Pacific Region where he serves as the Board Vice President and Progressive Design-Build sub-committee member. Brandon has a Masters Degree in Construction Management with a concentration in Professional Real Estate Development from Drexel University’s College of Engineering and is a graduate of the Stanford University Graduate School of Business Leadership in Innovation and Entrepreneurship Executive Program.
