As our 3rd in our series of AIA|LA virtual town hall forums, AIA|LA’s President, Greg Verabian, AIA will moderate a discussion with AIA National At-Large Director Timothy C. Hawk, FAIA on AIA National’s COVID-19 resources. Mr. Hawk is a member of AIA National’s COVID-19 Task Force. He will discuss details about the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act as it relates to architects and firms, large and small. He’ll also share upcoming information on follow-up legislation.
“The COVID-19 pandemic is unlike anything we have faced as a society, and there are many short term, immediate needs. The AIA will continue to support disaster preparedness/recovery in our communities and lobby for economic relief on capital hill. We certainly need to shelter members from this economic storm. But, at the same time, we recognize that recovery must not come at the expense of human and ecological health. Design does make a difference, and as architects, we have the potential to shape stronger, healthy communities. Now, with more urgency than ever before, we must demonstrate the impact of design to our leaders and advocate for smarter investments in our built environment.”
Timothy C. Hawk, FAIA – 2019 – 2021 At-Large Director, AIA National & Chair, AIA Government Advocacy Committee & Principal, WSA
