Jorge Sciupac, AIA – Partnergies

Based in Los Angeles since 1979, Jorge Sciupac has been called “The Partnering Architect.” As an international author, speaker, coach and group facilitator, he has used unique Marketing, Management, and Mentoring methods to help expand many well-known world-class organizations like The J.P. Getty Trust, Callison, VTBS, Timberlake, EEK, MCG, and others. His strong interpersonal, technical, and creative skills have been media featured and peer recognized for results achieved in USA and numerous countries of three continents, leading more than 178 large programs and projects ranging from $10M to $ 900M each. With a worldwide background in Business, Psychology, Architecture and Urban Planning; as well as advanced education from prestigious schools such as Pepperdine, UCLA, USM, and UBA; Jorge became responsible for successfully leading international teams, departments, regional offices, and companies in multiple industries.

Jorge Colon, AIA – CO Architects

Jorge Colón brings nearly 20 years of design and management experience to his role as Director of Interior Architecture & Design. His work spans a broad range of project types including academic, commercial, and residential building projects, as well as the adaptive reuse and renovation of interior spaces. At CO, Jorge is responsible for guiding design processes that result in responsive and fully integrated interior environments. Jorge holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Georgia Tech, a Master of Architecture from Arizona State University, and a Master of Design Studies from Harvard University.

Vivek Ghimire – Shawmut Design and Construction

Vivek graduated from Drexel University with a BARCH in 1999. He worked in the architecture field as a PA and PM for 22 years. His interest in the construction field started 15 years ago as he started to perform CA and had regular dealings with contractors. In June of 2017, Vivek accepted a job at Shawmut to pursue his interests in the building industry. In this past year, he has been working on fast paced luxury retail project in and around the Los Angeles area.

Jose Antonio Gonzalez, AIA – JAGAR ARCHITECTURE

Before launching JAGAR, Jose had over 10 years of previous experience in design and architecture firms around the world – such as Team Haas Architects in Austin, Sauerbruch Hutton Architects in Berlin and RGA Architects and Planners in New York City. In addition, Jose collaborated with Frank Gehry and Edwin Chan at Gehry Partners as a design associate for seven years, with involvement in several national and international projects such as the “Puente de Vida” Biomuseo museum in Panama City, the Brooklyn Atlantic Yards Arena and Towers in New York; and the Hall Winery in Napa Valley. José Antonio González holds a Bachelor of Architecture with honors from the University of Texas at Austin, is an active member of the American Institute of Architects and is a licensed architect in the state of California.

Helena Jubany, FAIA – NAC Architecture

Helena is the Managing Principal of the Los Angeles office of NAC|Architecture. Throughout her career of over 30 years, Helena has advanced her practice by developing a collaborative process that promoted diversity and advocated for outstanding design with a focus on educational facilities. Helena was elevated to the College of the Fellows of The American Institute of Architects in 2013 for her contribution in advancing architectural practice by creating opportunities to empower minority and women architects, exemplifying the leadership position of the architect in the public realm, and elevating the architect’s role in the community.

Helena currently serves as President for the local chapter of the Association for Learning Environments, Immediate Past Chair of the Board of A Community of Friends (ACOF), a non-profit organization focused in providing permanent supportive housing for homeless people with mental illness. She is the Vice Chair of the Design Control Board for Marina Del Rey, one of the world largest man made small craft harbor. In the past, she served as President of the Commission for the Los Angeles Building & Safety Department, President of the Asian American Architects/Engineers Association, Counsel Member of the Mayor of Los Angeles Food Policy Council, and as a Board Member for the AIA, Los Angeles Chapter.

Charlie Mallers – MATT Construction

As a Vice President, Charlie Mallers is responsible for leadership and oversight of some of MATT Construction’s most important projects. His work includes close collaboration with clients, architects, owner’s representatives and engineers to set projects up for success. After graduating from Cal Poly with a construction engineering degree in 1977, Charlie worked for a residential developer and joined MATT in 2006. Since that time, he has worked on a broad range of projects including education, hospitality, high rise residential and single family residential projects. Charlie is actively involved with his alma mater, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He serves the board of the School of Architecture as well as the Construction Management Advisory Board.

Jack Price, AIA – Price Architects Inc.

An accomplished architect, Jack Price has developed and refined a systematic process that organizes the decision-making necessary to advance large, complex projects through the various phases of design. Jack has delivered over 3,000 living spaces and over 4 million square feet of office space for more than 15,000 occupants.
