Ventura County Medical Center HRW Tour
April 13, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm PDT
$25.00 – $35.00Ventura County Medical Center Hospital Replacement Wing Tour
The Hospital Replacement Wing (HRW), designed to unify a collection of existing buildings and create a cohesive healthcare campus, is a major expansion for the flagship hospital of Ventura County. This multi-award winning design-build 248,000sf, 128 bed project, designed by HOK with Clark Construction, uses the Main Entry, located at the crossroads of the campus’ two main circulation spines, to give the hospital a new public identity. The building nestles into the natural slope of the site, sheltering the loading dock and service yard from view and creating a unique three-dimensional experience, moving through the multi-storied Lobby up to the tiered East Plaza. Natural light is brought in wherever possible with views to indoor and outdoor healing gardens and green roofs throughout the hospital.
The highest acuity patients are located on Level One. Situated around the central core of the building are the new expanded ED, the Critical Care Units, and an Acute Care Unit that can be used as a step-down or telemetry unit. Level Two includes Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum, NICU, PICU, Pediatrics, and an elevated outdoor Children’s Play Area. Level three houses 24 Med/Surg beds. The D&T chassis, located on the Lower Level, includes 7 ORs, 2 IRs, multiple Imaging modalities, and a 26 bay PACU along wth shell space for future expansion. The project achieved LEED for Healthcare Silver certification.
