Join AIA|LA’s wrap-up to Pride Month with a virtual conversation about Stories: The AIDS Monument, opening to the public in late 2022. The Monument memorializes those lost to AIDS, while it also celebrates the many heroes in the LGBTQIA+ community who have led the way to the other side of the AIDS epidemic, educating younger generations about these experiences. Our discussion will focus on the meaning of the project, how it serves its community, and how it addresses larger issues of discrimination, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
The discussion will be led by Mark E. Lehman, current member of the Board of Directors and design committee of the Foundation for the AIDS Monument, and current member of the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce; Rogerio Carvalheiro, Design Committee Chair for the Foundation for the AIDS Monument; and Daniel Tobin, Co-Founder and Creative Director of UAP.
