AIALA Committee: Women in Architecture
EVERYDAY ALLIES – Welcome to all, and come celebrate Women in Architecture with us this fall. This year, the WiA Committee has chosen to focus on a theme of allyship. We hope to use our forum and conference to celebrate the everyday allies in our lives that take the incremental and deliberate actions necessary to effect positive change and progress our profession. We want your help to organize events and programs which can empower, inspire, and educate. Come share and brainstorm on how we can explore the various expressions of allyship. We want to spotlight and champion women architects. We want to promote our professional allies and work closer with parallel women’s’ professional organizations in construction, and bring higher visibility to the role of all women in construction. We want to explore the intersection of WiA and JEDI, highlighting our alignment in supporting social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. Finally, we will allow oursleves a focus on the self by addressing issues of mental wellness and health, especially as we emerge from our collective pandemic experiences. We hope you will join us this year in putting this celebration together for our WiA-LA community.
