Experience placemaking, in person, through Arch Tour Fest LA. A series of visits, many with highly limited capacity, to exciting, meaningful, and beautiful Los Angeles architecture.
Tours are led by designers and architects of record with detailed knowledge of each project.

AIALA Architectural Tours share exceptional design by AIALA members, with prospective clients, design enthusiasts, and peers in the profession. They offer exposure for designer and firm, and an opportunity to present the project in a larger context.

Case Study: Pomegranate
The Pomegranate is a multi-family project by Yu2e that demonstrates an alternate strategy for adding dwelling units in low density suburban neighborhoods. The project taps into latent demand in single family communities where there is typically resistance and opposition to densification or large scale improvements.

Case Study: Pico Branch Library and Virginia Avenue Park
A conversation with KoningEizenberg principal Nathan Bishop AIA, LEED AP and Spurlock Landscape principal Andy Spurlock RLA, FASLA as they describe the inclusive community design process and series of strategic public workshops that developed the 9 Acre Virginia Avenue Park and 8,7000 SF Pico Branch Library. The talk will highlight the comprehensive design process, city and neighborhood ambitions, current daily use, and lasting impact of the park.

This presentation will include a review of previously completed Sidecar projects as well as ones currently under construction, to showcase the evolution of the architectural identity of the brand, as well as operational factors that influence each location.

Case Study: Liberation Coffee House
ORA principal Oonagh Ryan AIA IIDA and associate principal James Guillou Assoc. AIA will walk through the process behind the design and how the team succeeded in creating a community living room at the intersection of the Center and the surrounding neighborhood that welcomes all, supports the Center’s mission, and celebrates the achievements of the LGBTQ+ community.
