Jasmine Benyamin

PhD, Adjunct Associate Professor, University of Southern California (USC) School of Architecture

Jasmine Benyamin is currently faculty at the USC School of Architecture, having previously served as Associate Professor of Architecture at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning.  Over the course of her 20-year career in academia, Dr. Benyamin has developed undergraduate theory sequences, spearheaded master’s thesis curricula, and chaired doctoral students. In addition to teaching history/theory surveys at the undergraduate and graduate levels, she has taught both core and elective design studios. Her interdisciplinary scholarship addresses architectural manifestations in art practice and popular culture, with a particular focus on film and photography. Her dissertation research was awarded a residency at the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA) and fellowships from both the DAAD and Fulbright Foundation to undertake archival work in Germany. In addition to translating several architectural monographs, her essays have appeared in the Journal for the Society of Architectural Historians (JSAH), Thresholds, AD, the Journal of Architectural Education (JAE), Offramp, DOCOMOMO journal, Harvard Design Magazine, Los Angeles Review of Architecture (LARA/NYRA) and the Journal of Architecture. Her books include MASTERcrit (ORO, 2022), and a co-edited volume (with Elena Manferdini) entitled Full Spectrum: Colour in Contemporary Architecture (London: RIBA Books, 2023). 

 

Stephanie Klasky-Gamer

President and CEO, LA Family Housing

Stephanie Klasky-Gamer leads LA Family Housing with nearly 30 years of experience in social and economic justice work and an in-depth knowledge of housing policy, finance, and development. Stephanie leads this nationally recognized and award-winning organization with oversight of its real estate development and comprehensive homeless services departments. Under her leadership, LA Family Housing has transformed into one of the region’s largest homeless service providers and a premier developer of environmentally sustainable affordable housing in Southern California. 

Stephanie is a passionate advocate and is considered an expert in the field of community development, serving in many leadership roles that shape and promote housing and homelessness policy. She currently sits on the California Housing Consortium Board of Directors, the UCLA Ziman Center Affordable Housing Advisory Council, and US Bank’s Advisory Board. Stephanie also served as an Affordable Housing Commissioner for the City of Los Angeles for four years and was active with Women Presidents Organization.

She is the proud graduate of the University of Michigan and earned a Masters in Urban Planning from UCLA. 

 

Jennifer Shab, AIA

Senior Designer, Bestor Architecture

A practicing architect in Los Angeles since 1988, Jennifer is currently a Senior Designer at Bestor Architecture. At Bestor Jennifer leads the integration of architecture and landscape design for large scale residential and institutional projects. Previous experience includes 25 years at RIOS working across single family homes, schools and parks. Jennifer is a licensed Architect and a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design and Columbia University.

 

Dave Intner, AIA, CEM, LEED AP
Senior Advisor, Building Decarbonization and Energy Codes & Standards, Southern California Edison

Dave Intner, with Southern California Edison’s Building Electrification and Codes & Standards team, is a Licensed Architect, LEED AP and Certified Energy Manager. A graduate of Cal Poly SLO, Dave provides education and outreach supporting Building Decarbonization and Energy Code Compliance Improvement. Dave has 28 years of professional experience split between architectural practice and utility program delivery. Dave serves on the statewide AIA Committee on the Environment, the Central Coast Green Building Council board, and was a voting member on the LEED Energy and Atmosphere Technical Advisory Group (EA-TAG). He is a Past President of the AIA Ventura County, and recently termed off the board of directors of USGBC Los Angeles.
